The Role

We are seeking to augment the US Customer Integration (CI) group with a Lead Customer Integration Engineer who would bring a strategic approach to our day-to-day decision making and processes as well as understanding and directly deploying the day-to-day tasks at all levels of complexity. The primary responsibility of the CI group is to work with broker-dealers and institutional clients to help them integrate their systems to the MarketAxess Fixed Income trading system and market data products via Application Programming Interfaces (API). This includes integration with front-office, mid-office and back-office systems for order management, trading, and settlement.

How You'll Help Take Us There

  • Assist new and existing institutional clients and broker-dealers with the integration of MarketAxess provided APIs for various FIX Trading APIs, Straight Through Processing (STP), and Market Data feeds
  • FIX API integration for various fixed income products – US Investment Grade, High Yield Emerging Markets, US Agencies, Municipal Bonds and US Treasuries
  • Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, aimed at external IT audience
  • Maintain awareness of USCI team inbox and hotline to promptly respond to customer inquiries
  • Work closely with Product Managers and customers on the deployment of new API functionality and workflows and implement features with client requirements/needs in mind
  • Build and foster relationships with Dealer and Client technology teams, engaging them in the design and development of new products, features and services
  • Jira on-going integration efforts, proving clear updates for technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Partner up with Senior Management to provide direct feedback on process improvements
  • Accountability in helping achieve team efficiency and productivity partnering directly with Senior CI Management
  • Grow and maintain key relationships with our internal stakeholders
  • Hybrid Role and provide onsite coverage at 8:00am when in-office

What We’re Looking for  

  • 5+ years of customer integration experience
  • Experience with the FIX 4.4, 5.0SP2, FIXT.1.1 protocols
  • TCP/IP & networking fundamentals
  • A ‘can do’ attitude that goes above and beyond the day-to-day operational processes of Customer Integration
  • A problem solver who can clearly stand out in the team as someone who directly makes a positive impact on team development and efficiency
  • Candidates must be articulate, have a strong client orientation and show a high sense of urgency towards client demands/needs
  • RDBMS skills (SQL Server and/or Oracle) – ability to read, write and run SQL scripts.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income or other Financial Markets
  • Experience with OEMS systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and testing in a Linux Environment
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with team members and colleagues across the organization
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to prioritize key strategic items with clearly defined achievable timeframes
  • Previous experience in guiding, monitoring and leading groups inspiring a positive environment so that we can achieve our goals 
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and team communications skills
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $200,000 USD to $250,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
