Job Description

About the role:

The Technical Writing team at CoreWeave develops high-quality documentation for both our customers as well as for internal teams, communicating the cutting edge technologies employed at CoreWeave to our clientele.

In the role of Technical Writer, you will be responsible for developing and editing product documentation to support our clients, as well as internal documentation to support our customer success, marketing, and sales teams. You will also aid in refining internal team processes, edit documentation, and conduct internal SME interviews in order to ultimately act as a translator between our engineers and our audiences across the ML/AI and VFX industries.

By aiding in the production of written documentation, you will help drive the growth and adoption of CoreWeave’s specialized Cloud solutions by educating our customers about CoreWeave solutions. Under the guidance of the Managing Editor and Senior Technical Writers, the Technical Writer supports the Documentation team by crafting public and internal articles documenting CoreWeave’s products.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain public-facing and internal documentation for all of our products and Open Source projects
  • Assist in researching, testing, and documenting CoreWeave products in order to enable our clients to achieve the best results
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration across all engineering teams by conducting SME interviews and turning their knowledge into comprehensive tutorials, how-to guides, and explanatory documentation as well as internal reference material
  • Assist in shifting existing documentation into the Diátaxis framework for information architecture
  • Utilize static site generators in coordination with CI workflows and automated checks to ensure documentation is accurate and error-free
  • Assist in collating, writing, and organizing internal documentation using Notion
  • Assist in producing internally educational events, such as monthly Lunch & Learn events
  • Collaborate with GTM and Sales teams to release timely release notes and ensure product documentation is ready to publish before new product releases
  • Ensure documentation adheres to style guides and is internally consistent

Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we’d love to talk.

  • You love to write about the things you do, create, or learn about to share knowledge with others; especially if those things are technical
  • You love to dabble with new technologies, explore new tools, and explain how to use them in an accessible way
  • You’re curious about cutting-edge Cloud technology, automation, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Machine Learning and AI
  • You’re an expert in absorbing technical information in order to present it to a variety of audiences in both written and verbal forms
  • You have 2-3 years of experience in technical writing for software, digital infrastructure, or a related field

You have a solid handle on the following technical skills and concepts:

+ GitHub and git

+ HTML and CSS

+ Basic command line skills

+ Linux and Windows Operating Systems

+ Basics of networking, software development, and digital infrastructure

  • Some familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Understanding of machine learning and AI basics
  • Direct experience with Cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean)
  • Experience using static site generators, GitBook, and Notion
  • You’re fluent in Markdown
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You’re independent and self-motivated with a team-oriented work ethic
  • You have the desire to learn and grow within the profession
  • You’re receptive to constructive feedback
  • You’ve got a strong attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $120,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
