The Role

============

As the Head of Product, Growth, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving Linktree’s mission to empower anyone to curate and grow their digital universe. You will lead the development and execution of Linktree’s growth strategy with the goal of driving acquisition, retention, and revenue growth for the business. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this is a unique opportunity to work cross functionally across marketing, product, and engineering to shape the future of the creator economy, social commerce, and so much more.

What You’ll Do

==================

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product-led growth strategy, balancing short term wins with long term strategic bets in line with the company’s overall mission and goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and Growth Marketers, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of innovation, impact, and collaboration.
  • Develop a comprehensive growth strategy and portfolio of investments across the entire lifecycle that will drive Linktree’s growth, spanning acquisition, activation, retention, and engagement of users on the platform.
  • Recommend strategic shifts or pivots based on changes in the business landscape or industry trends.
  • Inspire and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Research to drive product development and achieve growth objectives
  • Communicate key metrics and insights to senior management, guiding future strategic direction.
  • Champion a data-driven, hypothesis-based rapid experimentation driven culture.
  • Advocate for our Linkers — our users — by understanding their needs and behaviors, and translating these into product improvements and innovations.

Who We’re Looking For

=========================

  • 5+ years of experience in a product growth leadership role.
  • Ability to roll-up your sleeves and execute, not just manage a team, with a track record of developing and executing growth strategies that have significantly improved user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Deep understanding of analytics, measurement, and experimentation methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of performance marketing channels including paid marketing, CRM, SEO, etc.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to effectively influence laterally, upward, and downward in an organization.
  • Proven ability to craft a portfolio of product improvement ideas and devise experiments to inform how you prioritize opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using metrics and data analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Deep empathy for customer needs and insights, coupled with an intuitive grasp of commercial opportunities.
  • Willingness to wear whatever hat is needed to get the job done.
  • Bias for action; you believe that perfection is the enemy of good.

Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $195,000-$275,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate expertise, the scope of role and level, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

What You Will Do

  • Build the platform that allows data analysts, product managers, marketers and other heavy data users to model their own data as well as making that data available in tools of their choosing, such as product analytics tools, BI tools, an experimentation platform or our CRM system.
  • Continue leading the transformation to make data a first-class citizen in software development at Linktree. This includes defining standards and providing guidance to product teams who emit the vast majority of our data.
  • Build and maintaining robust, efficient and integrated data models. We don’t believe that Analytics Engineers should be painfully cleaning up after others and deal with bad data all day long, if you are faced with a “garbage in, garbage out” situation, you will work with the engineers in our product teams to come up with a better way to emit the raw data.
  • You will also provide support to other data users including peer-reviews, training and acting as a data modeling/SQL/dbt SME across various business initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • A platform mindset. Data teams main focus is not to do repetitive data transformation and integration jobs for others. The team builds the infrastructure and tools that allows Linktree to perform these tasks at scale by enabling all teams to perform data-related jobs themselves.
  • You understand data-driven product development and have experience with the typical tools used by high-performing product teams, such product analytics, experimentation, but also general purpose BI tools.
  • Experience in data modeling with the ability to translate business requirements to fit for purpose data products for critical use-cases (reporting to the board, understanding key drivers of product success).
  • Experience operating at scale. You have worked on data systems that power a product that serves hundreds of millions of active users.
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with working on cloud-based warehouses (experience in Snowflake is a bonus), as well as working with DBT.

Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $175,000-$225,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate expertise, the scope of role and level, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

P.S. If you don’t tick every box in this ad, please don’t rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button!

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us take our product experience to the next level, support our growing customer base, and develop tools to scale the efficiency of our engineering team. Your work will span the full stack, from backend services and data stores to frontend client experiences and APIs. Our ideal candidate has strong backend expertise, is comfortable working across the entire stack, and would be excited to have the opportunity to build and own new features end-to-end.

About our stack

We primarily use TypeScript on both the backend and frontend. Our tech stack includes:

You thrive in ambiguity and love pushing the boundaries of what's technically possible while keeping sight of the practical need to move quickly and ship quality code. You are excited to help the team get new features out the door, and you bring a customer-centric ownership mindset to your work.

You want to be part a team and company culture that values diversity of perspectives and backgrounds, with a belief that our differences make us stronger. You bring positivity and optimism to your daily work. You don’t shy away from ambitious goals, and you want to be part of a team that comes together collaboratively to accomplish what individuals never could have done alone.

You will be successful in this role by:

  • Defining high-level architecture, designing and implementing software solutions, owning deployment and release of your work, and supporting the post-release lifecycle of our products.
  • Collaborating closely with our Product, Growth, and Customer Experience teams to ensure that your work meets requirements, and then working with the team to address bugs and issues as they come up.
  • Creating platform-level solutions that help scale the efficiency of our team, such as API library wrappers, caching systems, general queue infrastructure, and command-line level automation.
  • Collaborating with the Engineering team to own our product's uptime, reliability, performance, and observability. After the first few months of onboarding, you will be expected to share on-call responsibilities as part of our PagerDuty rotation.
  • Mentoring and supporting other engineers on our team in your areas of expertise.

We're excited about you because:

  • You have 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in a consumer software company.
  • You have expertise in scaling production systems and services supporting a large and growing user base.
  • You have shipped complete user-facing features end-to-end, from backend to frontend.
  • You are comfortable working with infrastructure automation using technologies such as Pulumi or Terraform, and you know your way around build systems and Continuous Integration environments.
  • You have experience being on-call and working with observability tooling.
  • Bonus: You have experience building frontend experiences and components with React or similar frameworks.
  • Bonus: You have early-stage startup experience (Pre-seed, Seed, or Series A).

Technical Writer-Developer Docs

 •
Fly.io
Remote
Series C
101-250

Fly.io is building a new public cloud. We are a rapidly expanding mid-sized company that is primarily technical but we also have people ops, marketing and sales teams. We’re fully remote and hire folks all over the world. We’re building the product, the technology, and the company all at the same time - if you like making things and want your work to have a big impact, this is the place for you!

dGSR,lMcU
29Ah
vr2v
xFI9
p1w8

We’re Fly.io, and we’re building a new public cloud. We transmogrify containers into lightweight VMs and run them on our hardware around the world – hundreds of thousands of applications rely on us, running on every continent except Antarctica. If you haven’t already, take us for spin. Your app will be up and running in just minutes.

Everyone at Fly.io writes. We write a lot because we work asynchronously and writing things down is at the core of how we do that so effectively. But documentation, as Kurt is finally coming to appreciate, is its own special kind of writing.

We don’t make it easy to build documentation here, but we do make it interesting.

Fly.io has an idiosyncratic culture. We don’t do traditional product management. Our product engineering team is divided into many 2-4 person teams, each responsible for their own roadmap, and each chartered to independently build powerful cloud primitives, which our customers use in creative ways.

Our documentation site is practically the first place in our process where all these primitives come together to tell a story about how to ship new kinds of apps (along with all the beloved classics) on our platform. It’s an unusually visible and influential place in which to do technical writing, and we’re interested in talking to the kind of person who finds that opportunity appealing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Bridging between our users, the best and most interesting community of developers on the Internet, and our product engineering team (also the best and most interesting community of developers on the Internet) by problem-solving ways to showcase our work and make it comprehensible. You know, doc-writing stuff.
  • Driving forward docs projects yourself: You’ll generally be self-directed, but you’ll also have VIP backstage access to Fly.io developers to ask lots of questions and get feedback on your work.
  • Working directly with Fly.io product engineers to help them deliver strong documentation on their own, helping to develop a contribution culture.
  • Working with Fly.io’s design team to win the ruthless competitive power-walking race between us and other big API companies to have the coolest looking and most useful API documentation.
  • Helping to make flyctl (our CLI) --help even more helpful; flyctl is the primary way of interacting with the Fly.io platform for thousands of devs.

This role will be a good fit for you if:

  • You’re curious about how things work, and know how to find out by asking good questions, doing research, and trying features out for yourself.
  • You write excellent English in an informal style, and can organize information to create coherent documentation that includes all—and only—the relevant details for the user.
  • Your approach to editing is collaborative and focused on imparting our style wisdom over time. You can prioritize changes and are flexible when applying style guidance. At the same time, you’re open to feedback on your own work.
  • You can handle a project start to finish; you independently make good decisions about docs requirements.
  • You have technical aptitude: you’re comfortable on the command line and can work in codebases to add docs for CLIs, APIs, and UIs.
  • You’re hands-on and can learn about features by trial and error.
  • You’re skilled at other kinds of writing, especially sharing ideas, progress, and problems with your colleagues.

You’ll know you’re succeeding in your job if:

  • You’re demonstrating that you understand the problems devs face managing apps on a public cloud by creating lots of docs to share that knowledge.
  • You’re also still learning new things about what people can do with Fly.io, and you’re excited to share those things with users every day.
  • The Fly.io devs you work with know what’s needed to create complete docs, and are reaching out or creating docs PRs when docs need updating.
  • Our Support team is fielding fewer questions about how to use us, and have a handy doc to point to when a customer does ask.
  • You’re taking valuable information posted in our community forum about how the platform works, and patterns to use it, and turning it into docs.

Our workflow and tools

Our public writing—that’s docs and articles—is written in markdown and goes through Sitepress, a static site generator. We publish by merging a pull request in GitHub. Our docs are in a public GitHub repo, so you can snoop if you want!

We ask questions and have discussions on Discourse (we’re big on async communication), and work on drafts in Slab when we’re collaborating.

More details

This is a mid-level, fully-remote, full-time position.

To optimize for pay equity, Fly.io doesn’t negotiate salaries. We have standardized salaries for each employee level. The salary for this role is $134k USD. We offer competitive equity grants with a long exercise window. US employees get health care, everyone gets flexible vacation time (with a minimum), hardware/phone allowances, the standard stuff.

Our hiring process may be a little different from what you’re used to. We respect career experience but we aren’t hypnotized by it, and we’re thrilled at the prospect of discovering new talent. So instead of resumes and interviews, we’re going to show you the kind of work we’re doing and then see if you enjoy actually doing it, with “work-sample challenges”. Unlike a lot of places that assign “take-home problems”, our challenges are the backbone of our whole process; they’re not pre-screeners for an interview gauntlet. (We’re happy to talk, though!)

If you’re interested, mail jobs+devdocs@fly.io. You can tell us a bit about yourself, if you like. Please also include 1) your GitHub username, and 2) a sentence about a company you think has great developer documentation (so that we know you’re not a bot).

Senior Field Marketing Manager

 •
Fly.io
Europe, United States, Canada
Series C

We're building something ambitious at Fly.io: a new public cloud, running on our own hardware all over the world, built to make it easy to run apps close to users anywhere in the world.

So far, we've focused a lot on self-serve growth: developers (our users) can find us, sign up, and build things on their own. Now, we want to meet developers where they are, out in the world. We're looking for a Senior Field Marketing Manager to drive our presence in ecosystem events and Developer Relations.

This role combines event management, strategic planning, budget control, and audience engagement. You'll manage field marketing events from conception through execution, making sure that Fly.io is showing up in an impactful way that's aligned with who we are as a company. You'll need to provide calm leadership in high-pressure situations and make sure that events run smoothly, even when challenges (inevitably) occur.

If you’re a community builder, this role should feel magical. Fly.io's a group of really fun, genuine people, and we need you to help us reach more people like us. We don't want you to shill; we want you to gameplan how to create over-the-top fun for developers, and then engage with them—using beautiful swag, good conversation, and great food and drinks—so that they become evangelists.

This role will be a good fit for you if:

  • You've done field marketing, event management, or something similar. (We want you to be able to show us the ropes on Day One.)
  • You're super organized (no details gets past you) and great at project management.
  • You can translate Fly.io's company goals into marketing strategies that resonate with technical audiences.
  • You like managing a budget, and know how to get the most "bang for your buck" when it comes to event planning.
  • You like to travel. We want to show up in person, all over the US and EU.
  • You're good at remaining poised and effective under stress. You can manage a crisis without disrupting an event or letting the audience know there's an issue.
  • You're good at managing expectations and pushing back when necessary. We need to keep initiatives on-brand and within budget, even when our internal stakeholders get excited.
  • You find it easy to build and sustain relationships, in any medium: in person, over Slack, over email, etc. Do folks call you a "people person?" If so, let's talk.

You'll know you're succeeding in your job if:

  • Fly.io’s culture and public persona is consistent across all our field marketing activities.
  • You're managing the field marketing budget so well that we're getting far more valuable events than we thought were possible out of it.
  • Your field marketing strategy is enhancing Fly.io’s visibility and engagement within the developer community.
  • You're planning and managing all aspects of our events, including logistics, vendor relationships, and on-site coordination.
  • You've built strong relationships with internal stakeholders, our ecosystem partners, and the broader developer community.

More Details

This is a senior level, full-time salaried position. You can live anywhere in the US or EU. In order to optimize for pay equity, Fly.io doesn't negotiate salaries. We have standardized salaries for each employee level. The salary for this role is $190k USD. We offer competitive equity grants with a long exercise window. US employees get health care, everyone gets flexible vacation time (with a minimum), hardware/phone allowances, the standard stuff.

If you’re interested, mail jobs+field-marketer@fly.io. You can tell us a bit about yourself, if you like. Please also include 1. your location and 2. your favorite industry euphemism for “customer”, so we know you’re not a bot.

GroupCollect is a suite of tools that lets tour operators handle group travel, especially for students.

We are a bootstrapped company operating in a niche market which we think is underserved. We want to make tools these folks love and rely on, whether they’re devising a trip, selling it to a school, getting travelers registered, collecting payments, or anything else. Tour operators put a lot of trust in us and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.

We believe that diversity and inclusion among our teammates are critical to our success as a company. We are looking for talented people from the widest range of backgrounds.

Who we’re looking for

  • We’re looking for full stack software engineers who have at least 3 years of experience using Elixir & Phoenix or Ruby & Rails.
  • We need folks who are comfortable working fully remote in the UTC-6/UTC+3 time zones.
  • While we are remote, we are not asynchronous. The hours you work are expected to overlap with US Eastern Time for 3-4 hours on most days.
  • We expect you to be great at listening and asking questions, a good communicator with solid (but by no means native) English skills.
  • You should be independent and self directed but humble enough to reach out and ask for help.
  • You should care a lot about the quality of products you make, not just the quality of the codebase.

What we’re offering

  • 110K-150K USD/year depending on your experience
  • Generous benefits for US employees
  • We offer a 401(k) matching plan where GroupCollect, LLC matches 100% of your contributions up to 3% of your salary, and then 50% of your contributions on the next 2% of your salary.
  • Flexible Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA): more affordable than traditional group health plans, personalized to suit your unique healthcare needs, and nontaxable.
  • Ample paid time off: 30 days per year for international contractors; 20 days per year + 10 legal holidays for US employees (though you can trade legal holidays for days off if you want)
  • Unlimited paid sick leave
  • The latest and greatest MacBook Pro
  • $500/year reimbursement for any books, videos or courses you wish to purchase.

What it’s like to work with us

We are a bootstrapped company with a small and nimble crew. While we care a lot about our customers, we put our team first.

  • You’ll work in a relaxed, informal atmosphere which lets you focus on your work without getting in the way.
  • We’re not heavy on management, process or meetings. While we find that some structure and planning help, we don’t overdo it.
  • We care about a healthy work-life balance. You won’t be working more than 40 hours a week except during the rarest of emergencies.

How we work

We feel like job posts and interviews sometimes make it hard to know what you’re signing up for. So we’d like to go into a bit of detail here:

  • We use bi-weekly cycles to plan our work, but we don’t ascribe to SCRUM or any other rigid agile process.
  • We do a daily standup with our peers Mon-Thu, a weekly meeting with the entire team on Monday.
  • You will always find a few hours in the day to focus on your work.
  • We ship our work multiple times a day.
  • Fridays are usually reserved for code cleanup, quality of life improvements, etc.
  • We expect you to write tests, but we don’t ascribe to TDD or expect 100% code coverage. We see tests as a way to ensure we won’t let our customers down.
  • We have a few full-stack monolithic web apps that interface with each other using webhooks and APIs. We don’t do single page apps or microservices.
  • We host on PaaS platforms. We don’t care if you’ve never heard of Kubernetes before–and we’re here for you if you never want to hear about it again.
  • We do a weekly rotation in dealing with bugs and exceptions. But because we are serious about testing (and a globally distributed team) nobody’s going to wake you up in the middle of the night.
  • Work stays at work: we don’t expect you to have Slack on your phone or answer email during your off hours.

Our hiring process

Because we’re a small team and we don’t hire a lot, our hiring process is lengthier than some others. While we understand this might be an imposition, we try to be flexible and accommodating throughout this process. The lengthiest part is a paid take-home test.

As part of this application we will ask you to:

  • submit your resume (a document, URL, or Linkedin profile)
  • submit a code sample: preferably a single file we can review carefully that showcases your skills as a developer.
  • fill out a short, five-question questionnaire

If we choose to move forward, we will follow up with a quick 30-minute non-technical call where we can learn about each other.

If we move forward from there, we will follow up with a 90 minute technical interview.

  • Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to implement algorithms on a whiteboard.
  • We’ll ask you how you would implement some of the features we’ve shipped in the past.
  • We will also ask your opinion on some technology and industry practices and how you feel about them
  • This is a chance to learn about each other and see how we each approach our work.

Finally, if we move forward from here we will ask you to work on a 20-hour paid take home project.

  • Applicants that complete the take home test will receive $1,000.
  • You can choose how you want to schedule it: half-time work for a week, 3 days of deep focus, stretch it out over two weeks, etc. If you’ve made it this far, we can be flexible and will accommodate you.
  • We would like to meet with you once or twice during this take home test; this lets you and us ask follow up questions and dig into some details.

At the end of this process, we should both feel like we know each other pretty well and know whether we want to work together

Diversity and inclusion

GroupCollect is an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.

We do not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factor.
