Who You Are

We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with a strong background in advanced networking, routing, security, and extensive experience with AWS and Meraki. Your role is crucial in steering our network infrastructure through complex challenges and dynamic technological landscapes. Your expertise in high-level network strategies and security protocols, combined with a proactive approach to network management, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will contribute to strategic planning and lead the implementation, development, and optimization of our network infrastructure. This includes a deep involvement in cloud-based environments (AWS) and Meraki systems. Your responsibilities encompass designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring robust security, and providing advanced problem resolution. You will act as a senior escalation point for complex network issues and collaborate closely with IT leaders to achieve seamless integration and optimal network performance.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

Network Monitoring and Performance Analysis

  • Cisco Meraki Dashboard: Utilize the Meraki dashboard to monitor network performance across all office locations, including traffic flows, connectivity issues, and usage statistics.
  • AWS CloudWatch: Use AWS CloudWatch to monitor the performance of the AWS network infrastructure, checking for any abnormal activity or performance degradation.

Security Management

  • Meraki Security Appliance Configuration: Configure and manage security settings on Meraki appliances, including firewall rules, VPN settings, and intrusion prevention systems to ensure secure network connectivity.
  • AWS Security Groups and Network ACLs: Regularly review and update AWS security groups and network ACLs to ensure only authorized access to network resources.

Network Configuration and Optimization

  • Meraki Network Changes: Implement changes to the network configuration as needed, such as adjusting Wi-Fi settings, switching configurations, or deploying new sites within the Meraki dashboard.
  • AWS VPC Management: Configure and manage AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) settings, including subnets, route tables, internet gateways, and peering connections.

Project and Capacity Planning

  • Network Expansion: Plan and execute network expansion projects, such as opening new office locations or upgrading existing network infrastructure.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor network capacity and plan for upgrades or expansions in both Meraki and AWS infrastructures to meet growing organizational needs.

Troubleshooting and Support

  • Issue Resolution: Respond to network issues as they arise, troubleshooting problems related to connectivity, performance, or security across both Meraki and AWS environments.
  • Help Desk Support: Provide technical support to internal staff experiencing network-related issues, working closely with IT support teams.
  • Support AV engineer with physical tasks such as mounting TVs, audio-visual equipment setup/maintenance, and similar activities; occasionally help with running meetings with direction from our AV engineer
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Several years of experience in high-level network engineering, with a focus on AWS, Meraki, advanced networking, and security.
  • Certifications: CCNA/CCNP certification preferred; additional certifications in AWS, Meraki, or related fields highly regarded.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to envision and implement high-level network strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication abilities to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring network teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Advanced Technical Skills Required:

  • Network Architecture: Expertise in sophisticated network structures and protocols, emphasizing AWS and Meraki environments. Proficient in transit gateway configurations and VPC peering to ensure optimized interconnectivity and scalability within cloud infrastructures.
  • Advanced Routing & Switching: Profound knowledge in dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and complex switching solutions. Experience in leveraging AWS's transit gateways for efficient network routing and management.
  • Network Security: Advanced competency in network security strategies, including the implementation and management of NACLs (Network Access Control Lists) and security groups to safeguard AWS environments. Proficient in firewall configurations and intrusion prevention systems, with a focus on maintaining robust security postures in cloud and on-premises networks.
  • Cloud Networking: In-depth understanding and experience with cloud-based network services, particularly AWS, and Meraki cloud-managed networks. Skilled in VPN troubleshooting and implementing secure, reliable VPN connections for remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
  • Analytical Troubleshooting: Skilled in diagnosing and resolving intricate network issues using advanced tools and methodologies. Experienced in troubleshooting complex VPN issues and ensuring optimal network performance.
  • Zero Trust Architecture: Proficient in implementing Zero Trust principles using Cloudflare and other security technologies. Expertise in enhancing network security by enforcing strict identity verification and minimizing trust assumptions within the network.

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $142,500.00 to $156,750.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.

The Role

As a Backend Engineer for Linktree’s Data and Machine Learning team, you’ll be responsible for building scalable, performant backend systems that support our data and ML capabilities. These systems will unlock impactful new opportunities for our tens of millions of users and our billions of visitors around the world. Most of all, they’ll help Linktree achieve our mission: To empower anyone to curate and grow their digital universe.

You’ll also help us test new ideas quickly, by working in lean, build-measure-learn cycles. You’ll develop rapid prototypes, test them on real users, and iterate based on learnings and user-feedback.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional team of ML engineers, backend engineers and data engineers, fostering cross-discipline collaborations to achieve impressive results. The Role

We are looking for Staff backend software engineers who are great problem solvers, enjoy collaborating with others (not just engineers) that value well-written and tested code. As an engineer at Linktree, you’ll be working together with various members and teams to achieve your goals. As a member of the Commerce team, you will be working on a 0 to 1 social commerce product for Linktree. You'll be joining at an early stage of product development, where you get to own, shape, and ultimately build the product. We're a start-up within a start-up. 

What You’ll Own

  • Build products that directly help Linkers earn a living.
  • Make technical decisions working backwards from a desired outcome and you take pride in building simple solutions to achieve that goal.

Who We’re Looking For

Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $175,000-$225,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area.   • Collaborate with, inspire and motivate a global squad of designers, PMs and engineers across North America and Australia to enable effective execution towards ambitious outcomes.
  • You will work in cross-functional teams, where you will have real ownership over a problem end to end.

Who We're Looking For

As Engineering Manager for Linktree’s Data and Machine Learning team, you’ll be responsible for delivering new ML- and AI-powered experiences throughout our core product. The Role

Our Finance team is growing and we are looking for a full-time Tax Manager who will play a pivotal role in creating tangible value by optimizing Linktree’s tax footprint. As a key contributor to the financial success of the business, the Tax Manager is critical to ensuring the company is fulfilling its tax compliance obligations in the US, Australia and Internationally. The role will include partnering with the business to provide tax and compliance insights with emphasis on the relevant areas of technical accounting and tax compliance.

  • Take the lead in preparing direct and indirect tax reporting for the Group and for standalone subsidiaries in the US, Australia and New Zealand, including:

+ Assisting third-party tax return preparers in various return-related initiatives, such as R&D tax credit calculation and transfer pricing documentation

The Role  

Linktree’s Data Engineering team is at the forefront of transforming the way Linktree leverages data, working closely with the insights, data platform product and marketing teams to become truly data driven.  

As a Staff Data Engineer at Linktree, you will be the driving force behind scaling how data is consumed at Linktree. Not only will you be modelling some of our most important data sets to gain insights, such as the data that helps us understand the driving factors behind the success of our product or our revenue, we take self-service one step further. What You Will Do

  • You will also provide support to other data users including peer-reviews, training and acting as a data modeling/SQL/dbt SME across various business initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • A platform mindset. Data teams main focus is not to do repetitive data transformation and integration jobs for others. The team builds the infrastructure and tools that allows Linktree to perform these tasks at scale by enabling all teams to perform data-related jobs themselves.
  • You understand data-driven product development and have experience with the typical tools used by high-performing product teams, such product analytics, experimentation, but also general purpose BI tools.
  • Experience in data modeling with the ability to translate business requirements to fit for purpose data products for critical use-cases (reporting to the board, understanding key drivers of product success).
  • Experience operating at scale. You have worked on data systems that power a product that serves hundreds of millions of active users.

About the role

We’re Fly.io, and we’re building a new public cloud. We transmogrify containers into lightweight VMs and run them on our hardware around the world – hundreds of thousands of applications rely on us, running on every continent except Antarctica. This is a mid-level, fully-remote, full-time position.

To optimize for pay equity, Fly.io doesn’t negotiate salaries. We have standardized salaries for each employee level. The salary for this role is $134k USD. Our hiring process

Because we’re a small team and we don’t hire a lot, our hiring process is lengthier than some others. While we understand this might be an imposition, we try to be flexible and accommodating throughout this process. The lengthiest part is a paid take-home test.

As part of this application we will ask you to:

What you will do:

  • Focus on the customer: Without our customers, our business doesn’t exist. Buildertrend’s BDR training program and tools such as Salesforce will ensure that you are prepared to sell the value of Buildertrend so that our customers win. 
  • Embrace the pace: We make 150 calls per day to generate leads and initiate conversations with prospective customers. We hustle, we take risks, and we aren’t afraid to make mistakes.

Position Overview of Senior Data Engineer:

Ebbo is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and support data infrastructure for the virtual data warehouse using a suite of tools including Matillion, Airflow, Snowflake and AWS. This Senior Data Engineer will develop jobs to ingest, validate and verify incoming data from internal and external data sources. The candidate will be expected to analyze and review pre-existing systems for potential improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities of Senior Data Engineer:

  • Assist in adding new data sources to the virtual data warehouse using a combination of Matillion, Python, Airflow and AWS.
  • Consult with data analysts regarding view and report creation.
  • Provide technical expertise in the implementation of ebbo’s SaaS Platform using Matillion.
  • Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to trouble shoot challenging data centric obstacles.    
  • Analyze business requirements and scope of data transformation tasks.    
  • Design and develop new ETL jobs utilizing a standard framework.
  • Monitor ETL for notifications and resolve any corresponding errors.

Skills and Experience of Senior Data Engineer:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL programming language.
  • Strong knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with Matillion.
  • Experience with Airflow.
  • Experience with AWS, particularly Lambda, DMS, S3 and EC2.
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles including data lake architecture.
  • Capable of writing reusable and maintainable code.
  • Able to work with well cross-functional teams.
  • Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to adopt and implement a project schedule and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

We’re Fly.io, and we’re building a new public cloud. We transmogrify containers into lightweight VMs and run them on our hardware around the world – hundreds of thousands of applications rely on us, running on every continent except Antarctica. If you haven’t already, take us for spin. Your app will be up and running in just minutes.

Unlike all the rest of our roles, these roles are geographically specific; DevRel here is in large part about engaging local communities and going to in-person events. We’re currently hiring DevRel people who can travel and work full time in North America. Of course, our whole thing is that we deploy everywhere else in the world, too, so we’ll be expanding from there soon.

There are a lot DevRel jobs where you have to make your own fun, because the product is about eliminating some gnarly business slog like inventory management or expense tracking or underwriting. We’re not knocking those jobs! There’s nobility in eliminating slogs!

But this isn’t one of those jobs. We’re doing something big, something that’s about software development itself. We’re one of a number of upstart companies rethinking the public cloud, breaking down infrastructure problems that used to take months of work and dedicated headcount into a platform that our users can gain fluency with in a matter of minutes. If you’re our kind of developer, the fun in this job is built-in.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about JavaScript. On the client, on the server, or even on the microcontroller. Whatever framework you like: we support you, even though we still don’t understand how you can know what `this` is.

Folks working in DevRel at Fly.io interact with three different groups of people:

  • Group A: our product teams, like in every other devrel job: the people building the platform and its features.
  • Group B: our “framework” teams, which are a fun quirk of Fly.io: these are small teams of people organized around individual application frameworks like Rails, Django, Phoenix, and whatever people are doing in Javascript these days.
  • Group H: the “developer community”, a term the industry uses because it is apparently squicked out by the word “customer”.

As a DevRel engineer here, your whole deal would be connecting the groups, per this schematic diagram:

You’ll accomplish this by deploying all of your “skills of an artist”, hopefully including things like:

  • Quickly building proof-of-concept applications that show off cool things about Fly.io, like how quickly you can start up a new VM, or the timeless elegance of our IPv6 addressing.
  • Building and delivering presentations for events, presentations that have the net effect of customers (err, the developer community) liking us more. Also, having the good taste to do this in ways that are interesting even to people who might never deploy an app on Fly.io.
  • Talking to people working on all kinds of applications, from side projects to large teams building microservice ensembles, and talking them through making the best use of Fly.io, the Fly Machines API, our integrations with products like Supabase, that sort of stuff.
  • Maintaining a public presence in online communities where developers congregate, and somehow doing all of this while maintaining your own authenticity and credibility. We’ll help!
  • 25% monthly travel (focusing on small local meetups to medium sized conferences) to hang with developer communities in person to build authentic developer interest in various regions and communities.

This Role Is A Good Fit For You If:

  • You enjoy building applications and are particularly psyched about the prototyping phase of building things, because there’s going to be a lot of that here.
  • The idea of a little bit of chaos appeals to you, because it’s a sign to you that there’s an opportunity to help define a new practice and make some big moves.
  • You’re opinionated enough to be interesting, but exceptionally good at listening, empathizing, and rolling with the opinions of our users. That’s a hard tradeoff and not a lot of us here can do it!
  • Your career goals involve increasing your public profile. We punch above our weight in getting attention from developers, and your job here would be part of building and expanding on that.
  • Going to a bunch of different developer events sounds like a good time to you. We are focused on in-person events as our strategy.

You’ll Know You’re Succeeding If:

  • The numbers are going up and to the right (or you’ve built a time machine and can make the numbers go left).
  • More JavaScript apps are launched on Fly.io.
  • You’re involved in helping systematize our content development past blog posts and documentation and into a library of different kinds of content to connect with people at different phases of their use of the product, and you’re seeing results.
  • You’re comfortable with how Fly.io intersects with all the major app frameworks and can effectively talk people through solving problems, and when you do that, the result is that people are excited to use us.

This is a fully-remote, full-time position.

In order to optimize for pay equity, Fly.io doesn’t negotiate salaries. We have standardized salaries for each employee level. The salary for this role is, depending on level, $134k or $190k USD. We offer competitive equity grants with a long exercise window. US employees get health care, everyone gets flexible vacation time (with a minimum), hardware/phone allowances, the standard stuff.

Our hiring process may be a little different from what you’re used to. We respect career experience but we aren’t hypnotized by it, and we’re thrilled at the prospect of discovering new talent. So instead of resumes and interviews, we’re going to show you the kind of work we’re doing and then see if you enjoy actually doing it, with “work-sample challenges”. Unlike a lot of places that assign “take-home problems”, our challenges are the backbone of our whole process; they’re not pre-screeners for an interview gauntlet. (We’re happy to talk, though!)
